GlenMary is a Catholic Retreat House that offers a peaceful, rural setting for rest and prayer. Only 1.25 hours from Ottawa, GlenMary is a place of retreat and refuge from the busyness and noise of the city and hectic modern lives.
The century farmhouse can accommodate private, self-directed retreats for individuals, or families/small groups (max 6). The house has four private bedrooms with a shared bathroom, a full kitchen and eat-in dinning room, and a sitting room. The three acre property has a large lawn with quiet places to sit. There is currently no chapel at GlenMary and the nearest parish with the Blessed Sacrament is Our Lady of Mount Carmel, in LaPasse and daily Mass is in Pembroke (about 20 min drive).

GlenMary
GlenMary is a small holding in a little corner of the Ottawa Valley known by locals as "The Glen". The house and property are fully consecrated to God, through Mary. The name is based on these two facts. Glen is a Gaelic word meaning 'in the valley of'. In Scotland, clansman would name glens based on the people or geographic features in the area. For example, the popular scotch whiskey, Glenlivet, is so named because the distillery is located in a valley full of water. GlenMary translated means "In the Valley of Mary". This property is Mary's; totally consecrated to the Mother of God, the Immaculata, for the greater glory of God and the salvation of souls.
GlenMary is a farmstead and retreat house nestled in the heart of the Ottawa Valley. Inspired by the Catholic Land Movement, the farmstead aims to produce food in a sustainable small-scale way using permaculture methods and the cottage production of local handmade products. The Retreat House is available for long- and short-term rentals and available for prayer retreats for those seeking some silence and peace.
