Three Reasons to Visit GlenMary

Updated: Jun 7

Welcome to GlenMary retreat house! As of St. Valentine's day, 2024, GlenMary is welcoming guests in the retreat house. We're listed on airbnb and vrbo, as well as having this direct booking site.

GlenMary is perfect for families and remote work, but especially focused on those who feel the need to retreat from the busyness of city life. A slower pace, more silence, and doing things well but without haste makes for a lower stress life. Not everyone can move to the homestead lifestyle- nor does everyone want to!- but it is healthy and wholesome for everyone to have some time away.

Everyone's story is different, but we all have so much in common. Here are the top three reasons, why, I think, you should visit the whitewater region, and stay at GlenMary.

  1. Retreats are good for the Soul and the Mind: Many, including myself, have had the experience of going on vacation and returning feeling more tired than before. Most of us only have a few precious weeks of vacation so we all want to maximize their use. But getting away from the fray - at least once per year- not to do but to be is extremely healthy.

  2. Family Friendly: Families are most welcome at GlenMary and children (under 12) stay free. The busyness of life can be particularly challenging for families as the demands of work, activities, and social put constraints on how much time families can spend together.

  3. The Rooster: I am really tempted to wax poetical on the cry of rooster at dawn, but I won't here. Many poets have described it and many soldiers have taken heart at the sound. Have you ever heard it live and in person? No? Then you must. I will write a full blog on roosters.

If you have any questions about staying at GlenMary, please feel free to contact me. I'm always happy to chat with guests and potential guests.
